A Los Angeles Police Department use-of-force expert testified Wednesday that former police officer Derek Chauvin used "deadly force" by holding his knee on the neck of George Floyd for more than 9 minutes in a situation where no force was necessary.

this defense attorney is an absolute joke, I hope the police union got a good rate... I get that he's grasping at straws, because Chauvin is definitely guilty of, at least, 3rd degree murder but this guy is absolutely failing when questioning medical experts... he should be asking about the dangers of mixing opioids with stimulants and questioning whether there is 'overlap' between cause of death (natural, accident, suicide, homicide, undetermined)... this fool is just asking about ridiculous hypotheticals

Did everybody realize that prosecutor Schleiter started from day 8 to use the term "NECK AREA"· than "NECK", which was the ONLY term we have heard all the time as the spot where officer Chauvin had his knee placed on GF`s body. "NECK AREA" is a wiiiide term, it includes shoulders and upper back. I think this was one of the biggest slaps for the prosecution, realizing that the officers knee had NOT BEEN for 9 min on the neck of GF, the alleged reason for the death of GF. BUT - what kind of amateurish prosecution is this, that is unable to PROPERLY watch and analyze the available footage of the entire incident. Every second from the arrival of the first officers to the transportation of GF to the hospital is documented visually and audibly from various angles. By bowing to the militant mob and bringing forward the most severe charges without considering the available facts and truths of this case, which includes GF`s deadly dose of Fetanyl, his existing heart condition and the extreme stress he was under when violently resisting his arrest, the prosecution may have fu**ed up entirely. Which will make them partly responsible for the mob violence that will inevitably occur.

The problem for the prosecution is that this is a criminal trial. On the two murder charges, there is at least a reasonable doubt on whether a preexisting condition contributed to the victim's death. This is far from a slam dunk.

No matter who it is, no matter what they’ve done, it’s common f*cking sense that police officers shouldn’t be pressing their knee against someone’s neck for 9 whole minutes. Floyd didn’t deserve that kind of treatment and neither does anyone else, period.
Pine Forest
Pine Forest 5 dögum síðan
I notice a lot of people saying things like “the knee was on his shoulder blade, not his neck”, and “he said he can’t breath before Chauvin put his knee on his neck”, and “there were drugs in his system”. The point is that Chauvin should have been more careful. When they apprehended Floyd, they shouldn’t have held him down for so long, especially when he was handcuffed. It’s a tragic waste of life. And all those statements Floyd supposedly made, keeping in mind that there might be confirmation bias going on in each person, should have made the cops MORE aware and handcuff him right away, before dragging him off to prison, instead of leaning on him for 9 minutes while he begged to be let up.

@Jennifer Reynolds it still doesn't erase what happened before or what led up to it. Both sides could have prevented it, not just the police. If Mr Floyd was 100% innocent, did nothing wrong and was targeted solely because of his skin color, then yeah I would 100% be on his side, but that wasn't the case. Most of these incident happens because police were called in for assistance or whatever, not because "they target black people to kill." And everyone complains I'm gonna get killed by cops because I'm black, well just don't commit crime, don't take drugs, and if an officer question you, just don't resist or argue, follow them 100% to prevent an incident. And I know there are some who are solely targeted because of skin color, but I 100% do not believe that every incident like this are based on racism. And it doesn't help that this country is getting more and more sensitive. In the year 2100, when someone drops a pin on the sidewalk, it's just gonna cause the sensitive liberals to destroy their own cities.

@Jonathan F You know you sound kind of funny when you're talking about law and order and this guy got killed For a felony at most, My point is they probably couldn't even prove it, And somehow he still ended up dead. It's OK Jonathan, If you're watching the case you would see that the officer broke the law by using Untrained And prohibited Use of force. Not only did his training officer say that but the police chief and pretty much every other officer that's been going up there on testimony. So I would say the same thing back to you don't commit crimes and you won't be up for a murder trial. Also if you watch the trial both the ER doctor and the cordner Said he died of lack of Oxygen, In fact that he eR doctor was not even told he was on drugs by the police. He only had drugs in his system not enough to prove that He overdosed on it.

And George Floyd said I can't breathe 27 times, which the prosecution stated in their opening statement. In Eric Garner's case they blame it on his weight and his heart problems. But Eric Garner did not take any drugs, he had no drugs in his system. Now they're trying to blame drugs on George Floyd's death. Point being, if someone's telling you over 10 times they can't breathe, then you should probably let go of their neck!! I see this case as 2nd degree manslaughter.....!

Hella funny how the defindent attorney is making the state witness agree that under the uses of force rule the cop could have tase george fylod, but didn't .

Because states witness, unlike you, understands that the arrest itself is not the issue here. His testimony is answering the question whether Floyds death in police custody was caused by Chauvin, not whether arrest was justified in the first place. Its funny to me how non-lawyers actually think this is some big concession for prosecution, clearly clueless as to the components of murder.

Understanding and being aware of different ways individuals speak is crucial ! It's my understanding that GEORGE FLOYD was saying "I Ain do enny drugs" my interpretation is that he Meant that he didn't do any drugs, But why did he say it???

Kids, say NO to drugs. If you die from overdose you won't be remembered as a hero or have a multimillion funeral. Stay safe, isn't worth it.

I love how there is literally no case here. I came into researching what happened thinking derek chauvin was a murderer. I came out learning that he literally did everything by the books, retarded books mind you but you go by what your taught. The fact of the matter is the police department taught a restraint technique known as maximum. In the training it is deemed non-leathal and is used to restrain people resisting arrest, so saying it was not necessary while technically true is very disingenuous as it gives the assumption that it was not allowed or out of line. It is not a choke hold and does not and did not block the air way hence the fact he could talk. It is not mentioned how long to hold the restraint as it is deemed non-leathal and not a choke move which is deemed leathal in the training material. Currently the training material has been taken down by the police department and has been covered up and denied by the majority of the police officers. The truth of the matter how ever is the autopsy revealed no evidence if asphyxiation nor any damage to the neck or head. The death was due to the large amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a variety of other drugs mixed in his body and his very weak heart and blood problems. And no a biased autopsy done after the first payed for by the direct benefactors of the case who have already received large amounts of money doesn't count. It's the truth whether or not you believe it.

I wonder why the chief of police would try and scape goat chavin because there office trained him to put his knee on peoples necks... look at the training pictures it's a restraint position, a garbage one a dangerous one but the one the police department decided to use and teach him. If you really want to solve police brutality fix the source.

Two autopsy reports said the manner of George Floyd’s death was a homicide. Neither said the cause of his death was a fentanyl overdose. Its been 3 months since you opened your account after the last one was banned. Did you not learn anything? Still lying.
